A new antigen on the epithelial membrane : its immunoperoxidase localization in normal and neoplastic tissue

چکیده

Using antisera raised against defatted human cream we have demonstrated a new antigen on the epithelial membrane. An indirect immunoperoxidase technique on routinely processed histological sections was used, and we describe results which show that this antigen has a widespread but highly selective distribution, being apparently localised to membranes that have a secretary function. The antigen is carried by a variety of adenocarcinomas, suggesting that its localisation may have a role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of malignant disease.

Characterization of a cell surface molecule expressed on B-lymphocytes and Hodgkin's cells.

An antigen specifically expressed on the surface of plasma membrane of B-lymphocytes and Reed-Sternberg cells was identified using a newly developed monoclonal antibody produced by immunization by BALB/c mouse with a Hodgkin's cell line (HDLM-3). The antibody was termed anti-BLA.36 (B lymphocyte antigen.36) to indicate its predominant reactivity and the molecular weight of the corresponding ant...

Comparison of rates of phenotypic variability in surface antigen expression in normal and cancerous human breast epithelial cells.

A method is described for measuring the rate of phenotypic variability in normal and neoplastic breast epithelial cells. Three groups of normal human mammary epithelial cells were studied, two derived from reduction mammoplasties and one derived from the normal breast tissue of a patient with fibroadenoma. The breast carcinoma cells were all cell lines, four (MCF-7, SKBR-3, MDA-MB-157, and T47D...

Immunohistochemical study of the expression of human milk fat globule membrane glycoprotein 70.

Human milk fat globule membrane, which is said to derive from apical plasma membrane of secretory epithelial cells in breast, was analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-two:dimensional gel electrophoresis. More than 35 components were detected in the gels. One of the major glycoproteins with an apparent molecular weight of 70,000, human milk fat globule membrane glycoprotein, was purified to homoge...
